- British High Commission Announces Last date of Applying for Chevening scholarship
The British high commission has announced 7 days are left for applying, fully UK government funded scholarship programme for Master’s courses through Chevening scholarship. These scholarships will be awarded to Pakistani students who can demonstrate leadership potential.
British High Commissioner Thomas Drew said: “The Chevening Scholarship is a unique experience that offers successful applicants the chance to study for a fully-funded Master’s degree at some of the best universities in the world. Chevening is a fantastic opportunity to build a strong, international network and to develop leadership potential. “I encourage professionals and future leaders to apply before 6 November. The UK’s ambition is to have an equal number of female and male Chevening scholars by 2020 so I would particularly encourage more female applicants from across Pakistan.”
The students can apply till November 6, after that the submissions will not be accepted. The scholarship programme includes all the expenses of courses fee, living and travelling.
Chevening Scholarship
The prestigious program of Chevening Scholarship is an initiative of British Foreign and Commonwealth Office and its partner organizations that are providing scholarship programmes to 144 countries to study in Universities of United Kingdom. It was started in 1983. The candidates of scholarships are from: Nepal, India and China, Egypt, South Korea, Indonesia, Pakistan, Mexico and Brazil, Australia and Canada. The numbers of scholarships awarded are different in every country.
Almost 50,000 scholarships have been provided until 2017/18. Fawad Hasan Fawad, former Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, he obtained his LLM in corporate finance from King’s College London through Chevening Scholarship. The selected candidate can study any post graduate course in any University of United Kingdom (UK).
These scholarships programmes are especially designed for the students of developing countries, with the aim to contribute to these countries by education.
