General Rules for Australian Immigration

1.      Age:

Applicants applying for immigration must have attained the age of 18 years and should be under 50 at the time of application.

2.      English Language:

The aspirants should have competent English speaking ability to work and to live in Australia. They have to score at least 6 bands in all the four levels of IELTS. 

3.      Qualifications:

The applicants must possess post-secondary qualifications. Qualification requirement varies from the nominated occupation and also from profession to profession. The qualification should match with the skilled occupation selected.

4.      Nominated Occupation:

In order to apply for Australian skilled Immigration program the applicant must needs to nominate an occupation from Skilled Occupation List (SOL) as determined by the Australian Government. 

The selected occupation must matches either with the applicants work experience or Qualifications. If the applicants’ occupation is not mentioned in the list then they will not be considered eligible to apply.

 The skills should be assessed by the Skills Assessing Authority. Every occupation, depending on its rating, draws a certain number of points (40, 50 or 60 points). 

5.      Recent Work Experience:

The applicant must have been working for 12 out of last 24 months in the nominated occupation.

6.      Australian Qualification Exemption:

 If the applicant have completed an Australian qualification in less than 6 months before applying for visa application should need not to meet the work experience requirement.

7.      Skills Assessment:

Before applying the skills should be assessed in comparison to nominated occupation by the Australian Assessing authority.

8.      Health Assessment:

The applicants should be in good health and their health must need to be assessed by the panel of doctors and should undergo medical examination.

9.      Character Assessment:

The aspirant should be of good moral character and should also be assessed.

Any of the applicant applying should not fulfill the above mentioned basic requirements should not be able to continue with skilled immigration process.
