India a dominant source of Immigrants for Australia

 

India has become the main source of immigrants to Australia in recent years, despite a fall in the number of migrants from India since 2012-13. According to the statistics on Australia’s migration programme, released by Department of Immigration and Border Protection demonstrate that Australia has received 189,097 immigrants in the year 2014-15. 

 

Immigrants are persons that were accepted under the family, ability and special current eligibility. The migration program does not include refugees. 

 

India is the top country of origin for immigrants to Australia. 

 

The number of people migrating in Australia migration program has remained constant since 2012-13, when the level of the planned immigration was set at 190,000. That level has not changed since.
